Your Opportunity  

As a Software Development Intern, you will work on various aspects of the software development lifecycle in a highly agile environment. This role is an active participant in all phases of software development including design, development, deployment, and maintenance.

 

This remote position is U.S.-based only (excluding U.S. territories). 

 

What You'll Do

What You’ll Do  

  • Create and maintain application code used in our web applications.
  • Contribute to the implementation, testing, delivery, and operation of EBSCO’s Platform as a service and Infrastructure as a Service.
  • Contribute to creation and implementation of automated tests to ensure adequate coverage based on requirements.
  • Contribute to software engineering best practices for design, coding standards, performance, test automation, security, delivery, maintainability, and culture.
  • Work with product management and your team to analyze and decompose complex software requirements into simple user stories for planning and execution.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
  • Perform minor software enhancements and defect fixes for a variety of commercial off the shelf applications.
  • Work alongside other software engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices for design, coding standards, performance, security, delivery, and maintainability.
  • Create and maintain unit tests.
  • Address technical debt issues identified.
  • Maintain thorough documentation related to their work.
  • Live the principles behind the Agile Manifesto and SAFe framework in all interactions.

About You

About You 

  • Working toward a bachelor's degree in a computer science field.
  • Basic knowledge of Software Design, Algorithms, Programming, and Data Structures.
  • Experience building software applications in a class, as a personal hobby, as part of an open-source project.
  • Experience developing RESTful Web Services using Java. 
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests. 
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub. 

What sets you apart  

  • Familiarity with Claude (Anthropic AI) APIs for conversational and generative tasks.
  • Familiarity with AWS Bedrock or similar platforms for deploying foundation models.
  • Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation to provision, configure, and manage cloud resources efficiently.

Pay Range

USD $22.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
