Your Opportunity

The Content Development Editor reviews and developmentally edits content submitted by internal and external writers for nursing and health professions point-of-care and reference products. The editor ensures content meets EBSCO Clinical Decision's quality standards. Qualified candidates must have previous experience as an editor; a clinical background is not required.

 

This remote position is US-based only (excluding US territories).

What You'll Do

  • Developmentally edit clinical content for point-of-care nursing and health professions content, requiring critical analysis, problem-solving, and independent judgement
  • Ensure readability, clarity, flow, and consistency of content
  • Apply best practices for editing online content
  • Ensure content adheres to templates and style guides (house and AMA)
  • Identify and promote more efficient methods and workflows for specific editorial efforts
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with clinical writers/editors, product managers, and UI/UX teams as needed
  • Provide content writer/editor ongoing education and support related to editorial policies, procedures and style guides
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, documentation, and updating of editorial policies and procedures (including template structures and writing guidelines) that foster readability and consistency across content areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as English, Health Communications/Journalism, Education, or health-related field)
  • 4+ years of experience with developmental/substantive editing, preferably involving medical, nursing, or other health care-related content
  • 4+ years of experience requiring excellent writing skills and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to apply independent thinking and analysis and to complete tasks under tight deadline and minimal supervision

What sets you apart:

  • Master’s degree in a related field (such as English, Health Communications/Communications, Journalism, Education, or health-related field)
  • Experience editing/writing online content
  • Experience with medical or nursing content editing or in a publishing environment
  • 1+ years of experience with MS Office Suite including Word (with use of track changes)
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High computer literacy skills and aptitude to learn editing/content management software and perform related skills

Pay Range

USD $63,355.00 - USD $90,505.00 /Yr.
