Your Opportunity

The Subscription Services Division of EBSCO Information Services (EIS), located in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a strategic and results driven Director of Accounts Receivable to lead and optimize our AR operations. This role will oversee a high-performing team managing accounts receivables activities across domestic and international markets. In addition, this role is critical in driving system implementation initiatives, streamlining AR processes, and improving operational efficiency across the order-to-cash cycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance operations, technology integration, and process optimization, with a proven track record of leading successful financial system implementations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 20+ Accounts Receivable professionals, overseeing billing, collections, cash application, credit management, and dispute resolution.
  • Drive end-to-end AR system implementation or upgrades (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Workday, etc.).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer service, finance, and IT to ensure streamline AR processes, enhance customer experience, and ensure contract terms and credit policies align with business goals.
  • Identify, design, and implement best-in-class AR processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Monitor AR KPIs (e.g., DSO, aging, cash flow forecasting) and drive continuous improvements through data analysis.
  • Ensure internal controls and compliance with company policies and external regulations (GAAP, UCP, etc.).
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing AR team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a change agent to drive digital transformation and process excellence within the AR function.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and stakeholders as required.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable or Finance Operations.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with direct reports.
  • Proficiency in SAP and familiarity with HighRadius or similar AR automation platforms is highly desirable.

Pay Range

USD $117,865.00 - USD $168,380.00 /Yr.
