Your Opportunity

As a Books Account Executive you will be responsible for maintaining business with current customers and growing the territory with new business by identifying and selling the EBSCO Books suite of products (GOBI, EBSCO eBooks & Mosaic). The Account Executive is responsible for developing new customers and maximizing selling opportunities. Through a consultative sales process, the successful candidate will provide library workflow solutions designed to increase library efficiency, retain current sales, generate and pursue new business opportunities, and build customer loyalty.

 

This remote position is U.S.-based only (excluding U.S. territories).   

What You'll Do

  • Sell EBSCO Books products and services to assigned accounts through telephone, e-mail, and virtual meetings
  • Achieve sales quota(s) for given fiscal year as determined and announced by Sales Management
  • Provide monthly assessment of territory sales, trends, and opportunities
  • Achieve an expert knowledge base of EBSCO Books products and services and working knowledge of the competitive landscape
  • Recommend product and workflow/service solutions to increase library efficiency by providing support, training, information, and data driven guidance to assigned libraries
  • Facilitate collection development process between GOBI and the library customer through new collection methods such as demand-driven acquisitions, evidence-based acquisitions and eCollections.
  • Manage the sales process utilizing internal resources including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, EBSCO Books ordering platforms, technical service and collection development applications and interfaces
  • Communicate and interact with multiple departments and business units (Operations, Information Systems, Distribution, Continuations, Customer Service, Publisher Relations, Human Resources, Technical Services, Senior Management, Accounting) to ensure adherence to customer requirements
  • Primary territory is West Coast United States and Western Canada. Expectation to assist in English speaking countries as needed.

Your Team

You will be welcomed as a member of the EBSCO Books Domestic Sales Team, which has 15 experienced librarians and sales professionals serving our US and Canadian customers along with the larger Sales and Marketing organization. About You

  • 2+ years of experience working in a library or organization providing library services
  • Must have sales experience in relatable industries
  • Superior written and verbal skills, including telephone skills, coupled with very strong interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of library technical services, systems, and other bibliographic databases a plus
  • Self-motivated, critical thinking skills, well organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and creative, and ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Ability to make first time (cold) calls, manage customer accounts, understand content and functionality as well as the understanding of on-line services as they pertain to information delivery
  • Must be able to think independently and make decisions based on the comparison and evaluation of relevant information: exercising discretion and independent judgment are essential
  • Experience working remote or in a home office.

Pay Range

USD $53,145.00 - USD $75,920.00 /Yr.
