Your Opportunity

 

EBSCO Information Services (EIS) is seeking a Jr. Governance, Risk and Compliance Intern to join our Governance team. EIS is a global leader in research solutions, providing e‑journals, e‑books, and research databases supported by powerful discovery technology. With more than 2,700 employees worldwide—and over 600 within EIS Technology—you’ll be part of a forward‑thinking, mission‑driven organization focused on delivering relevant and reliable information to users everywhere.

Interns at EIS gain hands‑on experience, contribute to real work, and develop critical problem‑solving skills while being immersed in modern security tools and operational processes.

 

What You'll Do

Security & Risk Activities

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments across cloud and on‑prem environments.
  • Support development and implementation of security controls in dev and production ecosystems.
  • Assist with maintaining security and privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participate in incident response exercises and investigations.

Governance, Compliance & Vendor Activities

  • Support Vendor Risk Management processes.
  • Review customer contracts, RFPs, renewals, and documentation for security/privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with EBSCO Legal to interpret and address contractual obligations.
  • Map controls across multiple security and privacy frameworks to identify overlaps and efficiencies.
  • Conduct audit reviews and information security risk assessments; record results in the Risk Register.

Learning & Development

  • Gain exposure to cutting‑edge tools, practices, and real‑world security issues.
  • Work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with regular coaching and feedback.
  • Build a foundation for a future career in cybersecurity, GRC, or risk management.

 

About You

 

Education & Knowledge

  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • A basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., threats like malware and viruses; vulnerabilities in code/systems).

Skills & Attributes

  • Effective teamwork skills and the ability to work independently as a self‑starter.
  • Interest in risk, compliance, cloud security, security governance, or incident management.
  • A desire to grow within a security organization that values innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
